The ecomuseum is an innovative type of museum, a dynamic process with which communities preserve, interpret and enhance their heritage for sustainable development. It invests in a homogeneous territory, extending its boundaries beyond the walls of individual buildings to include landscapes, panoramas, physical and biological aspects, practically all the elements characterizing a territory. The ecomuseum not only combines nature conservation initiatives with those for the enhancement and conservation of cultural heritage, but it also promotes territorial development that meets the needs of the population. The objective is to preserve the collective and historical memory of the place and proposing itself as an evolving entity that is enriched by the contributions from the activated initiatives.
